Senior Orthopaedic at Tribhuvan University Teaching University, Surgeon Dr Govinda KC , who has warned of resorting to another round of hunger strike demanding the government implement the agreement signed with him to end anomalies in medical profession education, on Wednesday issued a two-week ultimatum to address his demands.

Prime Minister KP Oli held talks with Dr KC earlier on Sunday after the latter issued a one-week ultimatum.
In a press statement today, Dr KC said he has decided to give additional two weeks to initiate the works of Medical Education Commission following the request by government representatives seeking more time to study the medical education policy.
Dr KC ended his seven round of hunger strike after signing an 11-point agreement with the government on September 4, 2015, for the formation of a Health Profession Education Commission to regulate the medical education.
