Sagarmatha Transport Association formally announced the resumption of vehicular movement in the district from today, informed Association’s member Mohammad Salim Rain.
Rain said that they had been time and again asking Madhesi Morcha leaders to resume the transportation service in the district. Morcha leaders kept on telling them to wait for 2/4 more days every time the issue was brought. Frustrated transport entrepreneurs decided to resume the service even without Morcha’s consent, Rain informed.
The Association took the decision as every other service like market place, government offices, night bus, among others, have already resumed in the district. In such a situation, the Association could not remain a mere spectator and decided to resume the day bus service, Rain said.
There are 52 day buses leaving from the district to various parts of the country. Due to Morcha’s prolonged banda, the bus entrepreneurs have already bore the brunt of the loss of Rs twenty million.
The bus service came to a grinding halt since August 15 last year due to the banda called by Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha.
