He passed away at 12:50 on Tuesday morning.
Prior to the departure of Koirala’s body to Sanepa, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, senior NC leader Sher Bahadur Deuba, vice president Ram Chandra Poudel, General Secretary Prakash Man Singh offered condolence to his body.
Likewise, Deputy Prime Ministers Bijya Gachhadar, Kamal Thapa, Home Minister Shakti Bahadur Basnet, Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) Chief Lok Man Singh Karki and CPN-UML leader, among others, offered their last respects.
His body was taken to Sanepa in a police vehicle at around 8 in the morning. Hundreds of people have gathered at NC party office to offer their last respects to Koirala.
