A Fishtail Air chopper that took off from Dhunche carrying relief materials crashed in Langtang on Thursday afternoon.

Fishtail Air’s operation chief Ramesh Siwakoti said there was no human casualty in the crash. The chopper, however, has been rendered useless in the crash.

The chopper company said the accident occurred at around 3 pm this afternoon at Nau Kheppa in Langtang. It was being flown by Swedish pilot Nicholas Tard. He is said to be in a normal condition.

Chief District Officer Krishna Prasad Adhikari said the chopper experienced mechanical problems with its main rotor while trying to lift off from Langtang. It failed to lift off and rolled over to its side, said CDO Adhikari.

Fishtail flew another chopper to the crash site to rescue the crashed pilot.
