The Madhes-based alliance was scheduled to meet Ambassador Chintai on Thursday to submit a memorandum requesting the northern neighbour to support the agendas of the agitating Madhesi and Janajati communities. Morcha’s move comes ahead of Prime Minister KP Oli’s upcoming China visit that begins Sunday.
However, citing diplomatic reasons, Ambassador Chintai showed reluctance to meet the Morcha leaders at the Embassy and agreed to meet them at Hotel Sangrila.
Key Morcha leaders including Upendra Yadav and Mahanta Thakur, who are currently in New Delhi, are expected to arrive Nepal by this evening.
Other Morcha leaders meeting Ambassador Chintai are Rajkishor Yadav, Anil Jha, Ashok Rai, Rajendra Shrestha, among others.
