Krishna Prasad Baral, an information officer at the court, said the court on Sunday had started recording statements of 28 people, including defendants, plaintiffs and witnesses.
“Judge Basudev Paudel will pass the decision after on May 3,” said Baral.
Krishna Prasad of Fujel, Gorkha, was allegedly murdered by the then Maoist cadres in Ratnanagar-1, Chitwan on June 6, 2004 when he was there to meet his grandparents. His parents—Nanda Prasad and Ganga Maya—had launched a series of hunger strikes since 2013, demanding that the killers of their son be brought to book.
Nanda Prasad, however, died on September 22, 2014 while on hunger strike. His body, which is kept at the forensic department of the TU Teaching Hospital, is yet to be cremated. Krishna Prasad’s mother Ganga Maya has continued her hunger strike demanding justice. Earlier, Chhabilal Paudel, the main accused in the murder, was arrested, but he was later released. On December 21 last year, the Supreme Court ordered to send Paudel to custody, as per which the Chitwan District Court began the process of recording statements.
