Journalist Kanak Mani Dixit, who had been taken into custody by the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), was rushed to a hospital on Saturday after complaints of heart ailment. Doctors at Bir Hospital have admitted him to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

Dixit was detained for his alleged involvement in corruption on Friday.

Bir Hospital Director Doctor Swayam Prakash Pandit informed that Dixit was examined by the medicine department after he was taken to the hospital emergency.

Dixit has been admitted to the Dr Manen Gorkhali’s Unit. His heart and blood pressure are being monitored, Pandit said.
