The result meant the Army club opened up a three point lead over second-placed Nepal Police Club (NPC) and Nepal Armed Police Force (APF) Club. TAC have six points from two games, while NPC and APF have three each but the Police Team stay ahead on head-to-head over their departmental rivals. Eastern are yet to open their account in super league after losing both of their games.
Lama took just one minute to open the account for TAC before adding another in the 19th minute, 11 minutes after Kabita Dhimal had doubled their lead. Indira Rai made it 4-0 in the 54th minute before Thapa Magar completed the rout of Eastern Region with two goals in the 60th and 90th minute.
The Army coach Chakra Tamang said they had anticipated the match to be easier one and took the game as a build up to their next tie against a much tougher side APF. Tamang said that the victory has put his team in pole position to clinch the championship.
