The distribution comes on the heels of more than 3,000 quake-triggered landslides after the massive earthquake of April 25, last year.
Department's Under Secretary, Dr Jagannath Joshi, said the net distribution was made on basis of a discussion on the estimation sent by the districts' soil conservation offices. "The wire net will be sent after the district soil-conservation offices provide us with factual details of the losses incurred in the districts," he said.
The government plans to send more than 30,000 metric tonnes of wire nets in districts hit hardest by the earthquake and 30,000 metric tonnes to districts witnessing lesser impact. RSS
