Floods inundate market, shops in Salyan
Floods triggered by incessant rainfall on Thursday night have inundated streets, a dozen road-side shops, three motorcycles and 50 water mills in Dovan, Baphukhola-3 in the district. Few shops, homes and around 300 Ropanis of farming land where potatoes have been cultivated have been inundated. The flood also swept away irrigation pipe installed in the area.
Water from nearby Chinali River near the market place entered into the settlement, according to a local Mohan Khadka.
Another local Shovaram Bhandari said the flood did not only breached their farm but also affected Suwaoral of bordering Rolpa district.
Nepal Police and Army personnel have reached the area for immediate relief works, said Chief District Officer Ramesh Pandey. He said that he would appeal to the government for relief and rebuilding of the shops destroyed by the flood.
