The final rites of veteran musician Amber Gurung, who passed away in the wee hours of Tuesday morning, would be performed according to both Hindu and Bouddha traditions.
His body was kept at Nepal Academy in Kamladi, Kathmandu, until 3 pm this afternoon for his well-wishers to offer their final tributes. Gurung will be taken to Pashupati Aryaghat for cremation later today. "My father’s final rites will be performed according to both Hindu and Boudda traditions,” said his son Raju Gurung.
People from various walks of life reached Nepal Academy to pay their last respect to Gurung. He died of high blood pressure, diabetes and Parkinson's disease.
