The Supreme Court has scrapped a writ of habeas corpus that claimed the arrest of doctors possessing fake credentials was illegal.
A single bench of acting Chief Judge Sushila Karki and Judge Govinda Kumar Upadhyay scrapped the writ filed by families of the arrested doctors and sent them to custody paving the way for further investigation.
Earlier, a single bench of Judge Jagdish Sharma Poudel had issued orders to present the arrested doctors before the court within three days.
Meanwhile, Kathmandu District Court on Monday allowed Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police to remand the arrested doctors in judicial custody for additional five days.
