The electric crematorium operated by the Pashupati Area Development Trust (PADT) that remained closed for the last 11 days has partially reopened on Friday.
Of two furnaces, furnace Number 1 came into operation from today, PADT Member Secretary Govinda Tandon said. A technicians' team is already in the Capital to repair the furnace Number 2 and it is expected to take few more days for the repair, he added.
Flooding in the Bagmati River triggered by the heavy rain in north east of Kathmandu district entered the crematorium on June 27, causing machinery dysfunctional. RSS
