PM's office bars leave to govt officials in view of floods, landslides
The Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers has directed all the ministries not to sanction leave and deputation to any district-level civil servants working in emergency response citing rain-induced disaster wreaking havoc across the country.The Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers has directed all the ministries not to sanction leave and deputation to any district-level civil servants working in emergency response citing rain-induced disaster wreaking havoc across the country.
The direction will remain effective for the time being, and can only be relaxed with permission of the Secretary of concerned ministries or bodies.
According to the press statement issued by the PM's office on Tuesday, the OPMCM had made the provision as additional support and coordination of the employees would be essential in search, rescue and relief measures in wake of the disaster including floods and landslides taking place in almost all of the districts of the country.
Floods and landslides in various parts of the country as a result of intense monsoon has affected normal life and caused huge loss to life and properties.
