Chairman of CPN (Maoist Centre) Pushpa Kamal Dahal, who is poised to become the next Prime Minister, said on Thursday that he has been holding talks with the CPN-UML leadership.
Talking with The Kathmandu Post, Dahal said it was a natural political process in the parliamentary system to break and make governments, and therefore he would urge UML leadership to join the new government in the making.
"I will urge the UML leadership team to support me to form a national consensus government," Dahal said.
After President Bidhya Bhandari's call for the formation of national consensus government in a week, Dahal has intensified consultations with the parties for the same.
Dahal further said though he had long been focusing on the formation of national consensus government things could not develop in that way.
The former prime minister said he would also hold meetings with agitating Madhesi parties, who supported him in his bid to endorse the no-confidence motion against Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli.
Dahal hinted that agitating Madhesi parties might join the new government sooner or later.
