According to the review of budget implementation carried out on Friday, the Ministry of Finance was required to mobilize 32 per cent budget in the first four months. With this, 16 per cent budget was to be spent.
The Ministry of Finance organised a discussion on budget implementation bringing together secretaries of 13 main ministries bearing the highest amount of budget. The programme was organised in the context when the Ministries obtaining authority after having plan approval from National Planning Commission do not give priority to the implementation of the budget.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Krishna Bahadur Mahara directed the authorities concerned to immediately expedite the budget implementation after he enquired about the status of implementation of appropriated budget.
"Grant authority within a week if it is held. No section is allowed to stop issuing authority. The bidding should be completed within the first four months and tasks should be initiated within the second four months", he added.
All the projects would be strictly monitored from Prime Minister and Minister levels, DPM Mahara said, adding that the project chiefs and contractors would be truly monitored.
Pledging that he would gradually sorting out bottlenecks in any rules and laws, he instructed, "Become whole -timer of the nation when the nation remunerate you. Make your mind for smooth budget implementation". RSS
