Civil Aviation Authority Nepal Lukla office informed Pilot SurajThapa had attempted forced landing at a paddy field upon receiving an engine problem notification in his dashboard immediately after take-off.
The chopper that had gone to airlift a patient from Juving crashed upon landing, CAAN Lukla said. The front part of the chopper has been damaged in the incident.
There were four other passengers on board the seven-seater chopper.
Mountain Air had sent a technical team to the crash site.
Another helicopter from Shree Airlines rescued the patient and the crashed chopper pilot Thapa to Lukla Airport.
The crashed chopper is one of the technologically sophisticated choppers flying in Nepali skies.
