Suspended CIAA Chief Karki faces yet another case for obstructing court proceedings

Advocate Om Prakash Aryal filed the petition on Sunday seeking action against Karki, his brother-in-law Prawal Thapa, and four others for hampering the judicial procedure.
According to legal provisions of Civil Code, such obstruction is subject to 15 days imprisonment, Rs 1,000 fine or both.
A team of locals had obstructed court officials tasked with delivering the court summons to Karki twice on October 5 and 6.
Chairman of Agriculture Development Bank and former Secretary at the Ministry of Law Pramod Karki and Metropolitan Police Circle, Baneshwor Division Sub Inspector Nakulraj Gautam has been named as defendant in the case.
Karki was suspended from the post of CIAA chief after an impeachment motion was registered against him at the Legislature-Parliament.
