Addressing a press meet organised at Singha Durbar to mark the completion of his government’s honeymoon period on Friday, Dahal said the government would put forward the proposal by taking all sides on board. He claimed that the amendment proposal has already been prepared and the government is holding discussion with the main opposition CPN-UML regarding the same.
Saying that he has always been striving to create an environment of trust and agreement between the ruling and opposition parties, PM Dahal reiterated his commitment that the government would move ahead by forging national consensus to deal with the issues of constitution amendment and the impeachment motion against suspended Chief of Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority.
He said that the government has been planning to finalise the date for holding local body elections after the amendment of new constitution. He added that ever since he took up the PM’s post he has been working to take Madhesi, and indigenous, among other disgruntled groups, into confidence and his efforts have been bearing fruit.
He went on to say that the government would give momentum to the implementation of new constitution as the formation of high courts in provinces, selection of attorneys’ office and the remaining tasks of the peace process are in progress.
PM Dahal claimed that his government has been successful in improving Nepal’s ties with China and India.
The government led by UCPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal completed its 100 days in office on Friday.
