After losing the toss and being called to bat first, Nepali batting lineup continued with their bad form and scored 24 runs in 16.2 overs.
Sri Lanka easily reached the meager target in 4.2 overs losing two wickets with skipper Hasini Parera scoring 16 not out. Nepal's Karuna Bhandari took the wicket of Yashoda Mendis in the 6th ball of the 1st over and Captain Rubina Chhetri took the second Sri Lankan wicket of Chaamari Attapattu.
Nepal lost its first wicket, of Sita Magar, in the 5th ball on the 4th over.
Nepali batting lineup then crumbled against the Sri Lankan bowling attack. Seven of the Nepali players returned back to the pavilion without opening their run account.
For Nepal, Jyoti Pandey put up the highest score of 16 runs followed by Magar who scored 4 runs and skipper Chhetri who scored 1 run playing 14 balls.
Sri Lankas's Sugandhita Kumari took three wickets followed by Inoka Ranabira and Osadi Ranasinghe taking two wickets each.
Nepal has already lost their first match against Pakistan and are due to face India, Bangladesh and hosts Thailand next.
India is at the top of the table garnering 4 points in two games followed by Pakistan who share points with India but are trailing on run difference. Likewise, Sri Lanka is third on the table with 2 points and Bangladesh also has 2 points but is one spot behind Sri Lanka on run rate.
Meanwhile, hosts Thailand are yet to open their points account but is on the 5th position and Nepal is at the bottom of the points table.
