At a party regional assembly in Sunsari, Deuba said he was confident the amendment proposal would be endorsed by a two-third majority. "NC and UML have agreed on the issue of provincial boundaries. I don’t understand why UML is against it now," said Deuba.
Deuba said the rumors about splitting Jhapa, Morang and Sunsari from province one were false and said Jhapa, Morang and Sunsari will remain in province one.
Deuba also said the success or failure of the amendment proposal will not affect the coalition between the ruling parties.
This was first visit in the East by the Deuba after winning the party's presidential election.
