Lebanese Police was set to deport Limbu to Nepal following her arrest for acting as a human rights defenders and helping a domestic maid flee. Sushila Rana (Sujana), who was arrested three days ahead of Limbu’s arrest, has already been deported to Nepal.
National Trade Union Federation, Lebanon had filed a case at the court seeking to stop Limbu’s deportation. Limbu has been working in Lebanon for the past 14 years.
Limbu has claimed that Lebanese national George Abu Daid had filed a complaint against her and Rana. “Daid was trying to portray himself as an illegal consulate general of Nepal in Lebanon. He filed a complaint against us for protesting against him,” Limbu’s letter reads.
