Nepathya enthralled thousands of music lovers at Tudikhel on Saturday, Jan 7. The band performed at the Grand finale of Bajaj Motorcycle’s bike reality show, Pulsar Dare Venture 2.
The show started with Nepathya performing their new number, ‘Kuroop anuhar ho… yahan kohi saathi chaina’. At the end of the song, the front man of the band, Amrit Gurung acknowledged, “This song was born long before Nepathya and most people in the audience were born. It was written by poet Saru Bhakta 35 years ago”
Saru Bhakta, a Madan Puraskar recipient, who was present at the concert said, “ I am moved by the musical adaptation of my work. I am very thankful to Nepathya for bringing the song to life.” Saru Bhakta, who started his writing career in the late 1970s has penned many plays, novels and poems beside songs.
The show proceeded with back to back hit numbers by Nepathya such as ‘Bhedako Oon’, ‘Chekyo Chekyo’, ‘Lampate Surati’, ‘Chari Maryo’ and ‘Jomsome Bazarma’. Before proceeding to ‘Salaijo’, Gurung shared his trekking experiences and enticed the audience with the joy of travelling into the hinterlands.
Before closing the show with the Nepathya rendition of ‘Rato ra Chandra Surya’, Gurung said, “We need to remain united, as we are all Nepali first. Let us all pray and protect our symbol of unity, our flag, our Rato ra Chandra Surya”
Ram Bikram Thapa was honoured with Nepal’s best rider title along with a cash purse of Rs 10 lakhs. First runner-up Bikram KC was presented a cash purse of Rs five lakhs, while Sudip Shrestha won the title of Most Popular Rider. All three winners rode home the Pulsar NS bike.
