Govt sacks Sushil Gyewali, appoints Govinda Pokharel as new NRA chief exec
Jan 11, 2017- The government on Wednesday sacked Sushil Gyewali from the post of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Reconstruction Authority (NRA).
Information and Communications Minister Surendra Karki informed that the government has appointed Govinda Pokharel as the new chief of the NRA.
A Cabinet meeting today decided to sack Gyewali from the post stating that the two clarifications furnished by the erstwhile NRA Chief was unsatisfactory.
The KP Sharma Oli-led government had appointed Gyewali to the top post of the NRA.
The government on December 29 had sought clarification from Gyewali over the delays in carrying out post-earthquake rebuilding works.
The erstwhile NRA chief executive had furnished clarification on January 4. The Cabinet on January 5 concluded that the clarification submitted by Gyewali a day prior was not satisfactory after which he was asked to furnish a second clarification to the government.
On January 9, Gyewali submitted the second clarification at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.
