Five among the deceased have been identified as Laxman Bhatta, Jayananda Bhatta of Bhageshwor-8, Diwakar Pandey of Bageshwor-5, Padam Bahadur Malla of Bhageshwor-7 and Ganesh Sarki of Bhageshwo-8, informed the District Police Office, Dadeldhura.
Police said that Malla and Pandey breathed their last during the course of treatment at the Sub-Regional Hospital in Dadeldhura.
Of the deceased, the identities of two are yet to be ascertained.
The incident occurred after the jeep (Se 1 Ja 833) skidded off the road and fell some 300 metres down at Thulokhola of Bagargoth in the district this afternoon.
The ill-fated four-wheeler was heading towards district headquarters from Bhageshwor when the tragedy took place.
DSP Prem Bahadur Shahi said that Bhim Singh Dhungana, Rameshwor Bhatta, Kishor Bhatta and Janaki Bhatta among others, who were injured in the incident, are undergoing treatment at the Sub-Regional Hospital in the district.
Police said the accident might have been caused by driver's negligence.

5 killed, 7 injured in Dadeldhura jeep accident
Five people have been killed and seven others injured when a jeep fell off the road at Thulokhola, Bagargoth, in Dadeldhura district.
The jeep (Se 1 Ja 833) fell some 300 meters down the road while en route to district headquarters from Bhageshwor on Wednesday.
Two of the deceased have been identified as Laxman Bhatta and Ganesh Shaki of Bhageshwor-8. Identity of three others has not been confirmed.
DSP Prem Bahadur Shahi informed the injured seven are admitted to Sub-regional Hospital Dadeldhura. Police said the accident might have been caused by driver's negligence.
The accident site is seven kilometers from the district headquarters.
