Govt withdraws Asha Lama’s name from envoy list

Similarly, the name of Sharmila Parajuli Dhakal has been sent to the Parliamentary Hearing Special Committee (PHSC) for discussion.
The government had picked Dhakal as the envoy to Oman.
The government had on February 20 decided to pick Lama and Dhakal as envoys to UAE and Oman respectively.
It has been learnt that Lama is in foreign employment business and has been sending Nepali migrant workers to Gulf countries. She also faces charges of duping Nepali migrant workers.
Lama was nominated under Nepali Congress quota while Dhakal was picked under the Madhesi Janaadhikar Forum-Loktantrik quota.
Meanwhile, the government had sent the names of 11 others, who were recommended for various Nepali diplomatic outposts, the PHSC for discussion.

Though the name of Retd Brig Gen Bharat Bahadur Rayamajhi has been proposed for ambassadorial position to Spain, his name was not sent to the PHSC because the government has not opened a new embassy there yet.
