After a new revelation on her credential surfaced recently, the government on Friday withdrew the name of Asha Lama it had earlier picked for ambassadorial position to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Similarly, the name of Sharmila Parajuli Dhakal has been sent to the Parliamentary Hearing Special Committee (PHSC) for discussion.

The government had picked Dhakal as the envoy to Oman.

The government had on February 20 decided to pick Lama and Dhakal as envoys to UAE and Oman respectively.

It has been learnt that Lama is in foreign employment business and has been sending Nepali migrant workers to Gulf countries. She also faces charges of duping Nepali migrant workers.

Lama was nominated under Nepali Congress quota while Dhakal was picked under the Madhesi Janaadhikar Forum-Loktantrik quota.

Meanwhile, the government had sent the names of 11 others, who were recommended for various Nepali diplomatic outposts, the PHSC for discussion.
