Bal Krishna Panthi, spokesperson at the Home Ministry, said that Katwal was transferred from Arghakhanchi to Saptari.
Similarly, SP Anurag Dwibedi has been appointed as the new district Chief of Nepal Police while SP Ram Adhar Jha has been appointed as the new Chief of Armed Police Force.
Earlier this morning, the government had recalled CDO Udhav Prasad Timilsina, Nepal Police Chief SP Diwesh Lohani and APF Chief SP Jaya Bahadur Khadka after the district saw violence, throwing the southern town into fear and uncertainty.
Three persons died and dozens injured when police opened fire to contain the situation following a clash with agitating cadres of Madhesi Morcha during the main opposition CPN-UML’s Mechi-Mahakali campaign on Monday.
