Youths demonstrate outside PM’s residence, Indian Embassy to protest Kanchanpur killing [with photos]
Mar 10, 2017- Infuriated by the death of a Nepali man in an alleged firing by India’s Seema Sashastra Bal (SSB) in Punarbas of Kanchanpur on Thursday, youths in Kathmandu gathered outside the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar and the Indian Embassy in Lazimpat on Friday to protest the incident.
Youths from various walks of life and students affiliated to the All Nepal National Free Student Union (ANNFSU) staged demonstrations this afternoon to pile pressure on the government not to remain mum on the incident.
Youths carrying various banners and placards writing ‘put wall across the border, I am willing to contribute my labour’, ‘we are not against India, but against Indian intervention in Nepal’, ‘Baluwatar does not know border stories’ and ‘we won’t let our motherland be sold’, staged demonstrations demanding that the government bring the guilty of Kanchanpur incident to justice pronto.
The demonstration was staged after youths coordinated the event through social media and various forums and discussion groups in Facebook.
