Shah, playing with eight handicap, accumulated 39 points while Sherpa scored 38 points in the one-day amateur tournament participated in by 115 golfers. Shah scored 19 points in the front nine and another 20 on the back nine holes. Sherpa scored 20 in the front nine but could only add 18 points in the back nine to finish second.
Shah collected Rs 100,000 worth of gift voucher and a smart phone, while Sherpa received Rs 50,000 worth of gift voucher and a smart phone from title sponsor Laxmi Intercontinental Pvt Ltd. Sherpa also sank four birdies, the most by a golfer in the tournament, to win additional gift voucher worth Rs 10,000 and another set of smart phone. Maj Nischaya Jung Rayamajhi finished third on the countback after tying on 36 points with Nirmal Dahal and Dhruba Thapa. Rayamajhi scored 17 on the back nine whereas Dahal scored 16 and Thapa 15.
Wangchen Dhondup finishes as gross winners after scoring 33 points and collected Rs 50,000 worth of gift voucher and a smart phone. Pratima Sherpa claimed the ladies’ title with 36 points and earned Rs 20,000 worth of gift voucher along with a smart phone. Gopal Chitrakar finished as the senior category winner.
Jamling Ghale bagged the Hyundai Owner’s category with 34 points, while Sam Doublard was the winner among the junior golfers with 18 points over the nine holes. Samyog Shahi bagged the longest drive and Ang Tshiring Sherpa the closest-to-the-pin award . Nobody was able to claim a bumper prize of hole-in-one on 10th that offer Hyundai Grand i10 car.
