Naya Shakti Nepal coordinated by former Maoist leader Baburam Bhattarai has called for an all-party government for effective and impartial conduction of local polls.
The party’s central council meeting convened in Kathmandu on Tuesday and Wednesday concluded that all three elections—local level, state level and federal—should be held together.
The party meeting proposed six conditions:
- Addressing the demands of Tharu, Madhesi, Adivasi and Janajati through constitution amendment
- Progressive restructuring of state with provision for special, protected and autonomous regions
- Formation of all-party government for effective and impartial elections
- Development of system that ensures election expenditures of parties by the government for fair election
- Conduction of three-tier elections with interrelation among centre, province and local level by taking into account election expenditure and time frame
- Provision of directly elected executive head and fully representative inclusive legislative for stability, development and prosperity as an alternative of parliamentary system
