Two dead baby jackals were found from Tribhuvan International Airport on Monday amid speculation that a leopard trespassed the airport runway.
The animal was seen on the runway on Monday morning, forcing TIA to briefly close the airport. Police and officials of the Central Zoo were mobilised to search for the unknown animal.
A search team comprising the airport officials, security personnel and experts from Central Zoo found the dead pups, according to TIA spokesperson Prem Nath Thakur.
The only international airport in the country was obstructed for around half an hour on Monday after a wild animal was noticed nearby the runway. Thakur said that the pups might have died due to the impact of the water canon that was hit in the bushes.
