The film tells the story of a relationship between lovers from two different ethnic backgrounds and stars Dayahang Rai (Furba) and Keki Adhikari (Tara) in the lead roles. The film starts off when Tara, who is currently based in Kathmandu for her studies, returns to her hometown, marking reunion with Furba. Although a few early days of their reunion seem to be easy for the lovelorn couple, the introduction of a police officer (played by Ankeet Khadka), who has been just posted to the local office, and his brazen infatuation with Tara, informs them that the coming days are going to be hard. The situation further aggravates when Tara’s father—despite his knowledge that Furba and his daughter are in love—decides to marry her off to the police officer. This inter-caste love triangle forms the centre-piece of the film.
Along with Adhikari, Rai and Khadka, Ghampani features actors Prembarsha Khadka, Saroj Aryal, Silsa Jirel, and Buddhi Tamang, among others. The film releases nationwide on Friday.
