NC unveils manifesto for local polls

NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba made public the election manifesto at the party headquarters in Sanepa on Tuesday.
During the programme, Deuba said that the local polls were necessary to decentralise the power from Singha Durbar to village level across the country.
The NC president remarked that the development activities would gain momentum in the country as there will be direct participation of local people in the upcoming polls.
NC manifesto stated that the party would come up with plans, policies and programme to address country needs to continually attain high economic growth rate from 7 to 10 per cent and generate 300,000 to 500,000 employment opportunities every year.in order to graudate to the status of the country with dynamic economy and middle income.
The manifesto was prepared by a committee led by Mahesh Acharya.
The 52-page manifesto has made ‘Congress Ko Netritwo Ma Shanti Ra Sambidhan, Congress Kai Netritwo Ma Sambriddhi Ko Abhiyan’ meaning ‘Peace and constitution under NC leadership; Campaign for Prosperity under NC leadership’ as its main slogan for the election.
