Organised by Lassana and Nexus Culture Centre, the workshop features a total of 20 Nepali and international artists.
The artists will over the next month engage in artistic endeavours aiming to help out the Sindhupalchok locals to rebuild their lost cultural heritages.
“Titled Rebulding Recaptured, the workshop will help rebuild the district which is still struggling to overcome the tragedy,” the organisers said. “This residency is specifically a community-centred workshop, where artists from different cultures will come together to minimise the emotional effects of the earthquakes through several artistic endeavours.”
Before their travel to the district, the participating artists were led through a tour of the Capital’s areas affected by the earthquake, where the artists engaged in discussions with the quake-affected and experts.
The residency will come to a close on June 12; the works created will be put on view in Kathmandu.
