Police suspect that the Netra Bikram Chand-led CPN Maoist cadres might have planted the explosives to disrupt the local level elections.
Meanwhile, as many as six persons were arrested in possession of a pistol and home-made weapons from seperate places of the district on Friday.
According to DSP Dipendra Panjiyar Tharu, Yul Tamang, 26, and Jaya Kumar Tamagn, 27, were nabbed with a pistol, three bullets and a khukuri in Satyadevi area of Khaiyabas Village Council last night.
Police said that they have also confiscated a motorbike (Ba 77 Pa 1962) and Rs 41,700 in cash from their possession.
Similarly, Uttam Adhikari, 24, Prachit Adhikari, 24, Prakash Thapa Magar, 22, and Nabin Thapa, 30, of Tripura Sundari Village Council – 3 were arrested from Salyantar in Tripura Sundi Village Council-1 in possession of swords.
