NC authorises election regional working committees to pick candidates for polls

During a meeting of the party’s office bearers, former office bearers and senior leaders held in Sanepa on Friday, Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Paudel said that the party has already picked candidates of Province No 1 for the second phase of local polls.
The party has also made a provision that if the election regional working committee could not pick the candidates, the authority would be provided to the district working committee. If the district working committee could not choose the candidates, the central working committee would be authorised with the task.
A group of party’s office bearers, former office bearers and senior leaders, who were present in the meeting, made the decision to this effect.
Party President Sher Bahadur Deuba, senior leader Ram Chandra Paudel, General Secretary Shashank Koirala, Treasurer Sita Devi Yadav, former General Secretary duo Prakash Man Singh and Kirshna Prasad Sitaula, among other leaders were present in the meeting.
Paudel informed that the leaders have started discussions on the issues of Kailali and Kanchanpur of Province No 7.
The meeting has been put off for 3 pm today.
It has been learnt that the meeting would discuss on the issues of Province No 2 and remaining districts of Province No 7.
