Man held with fake currency notes, printer

The arrestee has been identified as Santosh Malla, 23, of Kanchan Village Council-6, Rupandehi, temporarily residing at Buddhanagar in Butwal-11, according to the police. He was made public during a press meet organised by Butwal Area Police Office today.
The police have recovered fake currency notes with face value of Rs 100,000 and the same amount of original notes from Malla.
Likewise, the police also found 259 fake currency notes of Rs 1,000 denomination, 5 fake notes of Rs 100 denomination and a Free Ink printer from Malla’s Orphan Helping Hands office being operated in the pretext of helping people in need.
Malla landed in police net after he exchanged original Rs100,000 currency notes in Rs 1,000 denomination with the same amount in fake currency, while withdrawing the money from Butwal-based Prabhu Bank branch, saying that he needed the withdrawn amount in Rs 500 denomination.
During the first swap earlier, Malla has slipped one fake currency inside Rs 100,000 bundle and later he had put over 14 fake currency notes between the original notes.
The bank officials after finding out the swap had informed the police who arrested Malla following investigaiton.
