The party has said that the elections should be postponed in all the districts of Madhes and Tharuhat.
RJP-N Vice-Chairman Brijesh Chandra Lal said that the party would not support the government decision.
“The elections should be held after the amendment of the constitution and increment of local levels on the basis of population,” he said, adding, “The protest against the government’s decision will be continued.”
The party would take more decision regarding the issue tomorrow, he added.
Earlier this afternoon, the government had decided to postpone the local level polls in Province 2 for September 18 to bring the agitating RJP-N on board the election process.
Before taking the decision, top leaders of the ruling parties and RJP-N had held a meeting to discuss the polls related issues.
Mahanta Thakur, Sharad Singh Bhandari and Mahendra Raya Yadav from RJP-N were present in the meeting while the main opposition CPN-UML was absent.
