Chairman of CPN (Maoist Centre) and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has remarked that the \'people\'s war\' was not a romance of some individuals but an outcome of historical necessity.

While launching the memoir of general secretary of Federation of Nepali Journalist Ujir Magar, \'Ansh\' , in Kathmandu on Tuesday, Maoist supremo Dahal claimed that the books of some journalists, including Prayogshala, have triggered political controversy in the country.

Expressing worries over negative portrayals of the decade-long war, Dahal tried to clarify that the conflict should be analysed from socio-cultural, economic, psychological perspectives and many other dimensions of the Nepali society.

Dahal, the mastermind of the war, claimed that the changes achieved due to the conflict would have ‘immense and long-lasting traces’ in Nepal\'s history.

Responding to Editor Yubaraj Ghimire\'s statement that the solution of the conflict should had been sought from within the country, Dahal said that his party had tried hard to resolve the issue from within the country but it could not materilaise due to the then king Gyanendra.

Dahal said Magar\'s memoirs \'Ansh\' was a lively and simple documentation of Nepali political developments and journalism which won\'t create any controversy in the Nepali political sphere.

Senior journalists Yubaraj Ghimire, Narayan Wagle, Gunaraj Luitel, Govinda Acharya, UML leader Surya Thapa, FNJ Chairman Mahendra Bista discussed on the issues of the book during the function.
