A group of people from non-Dalit Community assaulted Liladhar Das (Tatma), 42, of Bode Basain Municipality-6 leaving him critically injured.
The incident came to light after locals admitted Das at the Rajbiraj-based Sagarmatha Zonal Hospital for treatment on Wednesday.
He had his left hand fractured with injuries on different parts of the body.
Das was referred to the Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences for further treatment from Sagarmatha Zonal Hospital.
Injured Das said that some locals—Raj Kumar Yadav, Ram Chandra Yadav, Sakaldev Yadav and Jitendra Shah, among others had attacked him while he was entering the temple to perfrom Asari Pooja.
The victim said that although he filed a complaint at the Area Police Office, Bode Basain following the incident, police did not pay heed to the incident.
Sub-Inspector Uma Shankar Singh of the Area Police Office, Bode Basain, however, said that police booked those involved in the incident and investigating into the incident. RSS
