Chief Justice Gopal Parajuli has administered oath of office and secrecy to Electoral Constituency Delineation Commission (CDC) Chairperson Kamal Narayan Das amidst a function held at the Supreme Court on Sunday.

Likewise, Chairperson Das administered oath of office and secrecy to Commission members Madhav Adhikari, Biswo Kalyan Parajuli and Ganesh Raj Karki.

The government on July 20 had decided to form a five-member CDC headed by former Supreme Court justice Kamal Narayan Das.

Yogendra Sharma Poudel has been designated the member-secretary of the Commission.

As per the constitutional deadline, elections for federal and state parliaments must be held by January 21 next year when the term of the incumbent Parliament expires.

The CDC has to delineate 165 electoral constituencies for federal parliament and 330 for state parliament.
