The office of Kawasoti Municipality in Nawalparasi district that was padlocked since July 19 by elected representatives from Nepali Congress and CPN (Maoist Centre) has been opened on Sunday. 

The NC and CPN (MC) leaders padlocked the office following dissatisfaction with the plans and policies of the municipality.

The padlock was unlocked by the mayor, executive director and account officers after forging an agreement with all the parties to amend the municipality’s plans and policies including sending the budget for the targeted group and reconsideration of tax increment among others, informed NC District Secretary Krishna Ghimire.

Likewise, the parties have also forged an agreement to form Interparty Committee to solve the problems of the municipality.
