Human rights activists have staged a demonstration outside the Myanmar embassy at Nakkhu, Lalitpur on Wednesday demanding that the ongoing violence against Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar be stopped at the earliest.
They have also submitted a memorandum to the embassy.
According to rights activist Rajan Kuinkel, they have staged the demonstration to pile pressure on the embassy to stop the ongoing misbehavior against Rohingya.
He said that the Nepal government should put pressure on Myanmar government through a diplomatic channel to ensure safe and fearless repatriation of Rohingyas taking refuge in Nepal.
The Rohingya are a minority group in Myanmar’s Rakhine State.
