38 injured in Bardiya and Ramechhap road accidents

According to police, a passenger night bus (Na 5 Kha 4153) en route to Kathmandu from New Delhi, India, turned turtle injuring 24 passengers at Katarniya, Barbardiya Municipality-9 in Bardiya district along the East-West Highway . The ill-fated bus overturned while trying to avoid a cow in the middle of the road.
SP Janak Bhattarai informed that five persons are in critical condition. They are receiving medical attention at Kohalpur-based Teaching Hospital.
Likewise, 13 passengers were injured when a Tata Sumo jeep met with an accident at Likhu Rural Municipaliy in Ramechhap district.
Local police have suspected over speeding as the cause behind the accident.
The jeep was en route to Manthali from Khimti in the district.
The injured are receiving medical treatment at Manthali-based Tamakoshi Sahakari Hospital and Ramechhap Community Hospital.
Meanwhile, police have taken the jeep driver under control for investigation.
