As a result, hundreds of passengers travelling to various places have been marooned for the past 10 hours.
The heavy and continuous rainfall of Monday night also swept away the diversion of Begkhola.
According to the Chief District Officer Krishna Prasad Adhikari, stranded passengers and Nepal Army personnel with the help of a dozer of Road Division are trying to divert the flood and resume the traffic movement.
“We hope that the vehicular movement will come into operation by 2 pm today as the efforts to reopen the road has already been started,” CDO Adhikari said, adding, “The water level in the river is also decreasing.”
Meanwhile, the Begkhola swept away a taxi (Dha 1 Ja 405) yesterday evening.
