Oct 5, 2017-

Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary Shashank Koirala has claimed the leftist alliance will have no effect on the NC.

Saying that it is natural to forge a working alliance among the parties with common ideology prior to the elections, leader Koirala stressed the need for strengthening the party organisation and collaborating with ‘democratic forces’ in the upcoming federal and provincial elections.

Speaking at a press meet organised in Nawalparasi on Wednesday, Koirala said the upcoming elections were important for successful implementation of federal

set-up.

He also announced that he would contest the election from Nawalparasi  and called on the party cadres to prepare for the elections by including programmes as per the aspirations of people and with a clear roadmap for a prosperous Nepal.

Also on Wednesday, Koirala welcomed around two dozen leaders of Madhes-based political parties, including Rastriya Janata Party-Nepal’s Bina Kumar Thanet, Nepal Loktantrik Forum’s Rekha Panjiyar, Rastriya Janata Party Nepal’s Laxman Panjiyar to the NC amidst a function at Kawasoti Municipal Committee.
