MJF-L leaders at odds over Gachhadar’s decision to join democratic alliance

Leaders of Rastriya Janamukti Party (Loktantrik), Tharuhat Tarai Party, Dalit Janajati Party, Nagarik Party, Shakti Party and Liberal Democratic Party who came in the unification process were dissatisfied with the decision of Gachhadar.
Expressing dissatisfaction over the activities of Gachhadar, the leaders had boycotted a meeting called by him on Thursday to pick the members for taskforce of Democratic alliance to be formed under the headship of Nepali Congress.
Gachhadhar has sent Gopal Dahit in the taskforce of the alliance. Dahit is Minister for Land Reforms and Management in the Sher Bahadur Deuba-led government.
One of the leaders, who boycotted the meeting, said, “Though the party is said to be democratic, the behavior of the leadership is like autocratic. Hence, we boycotted the meeting.”
Janamukti Party leader and Forum Loktantrik Co-Chairman Shiva Lal Thapa, Forum Loktantrik Parliamentary Party chief whip Yogendra Chaudhary and leader Ram Janam Chaudhary had boycotted the meeting.
Meanwhile, Loktantrik Forum chief whip Chaudhary said that he could not attend the meeting as he was busy in other programmes.
Admitting that the dispute has arisen in the party, he said that the problem should be resolved through discussions at the earliest.
Moreover, Shiva Lal Thapa said that he would not attend the meeting called by the party tomorrow as well.
