Over 41 metric ton of solid waste was collected and managed on Saturday as part of Kathmandu Valley clean-up campaigns.
Eight metric ton of solid waste was picked up from the Pashupati Ram Temple area under the Bagmati Clean-up Mega Campaign which entered its 231st week on Saturday.
More than 600 people from different walks of life participated in the campaign.
Representatives of the High Powered Committee for the Integrated Development of Bagmati Civilisation, Kathmandu Metropolitan City, security agencies and clubs among others were present.
Likewise, two metric ton of waste was extracted from Hanuman Ghat and Gothatar bridge areas under the Guheshwari above Bagmati clean-up drive that entered its 191st week on Saturday.
Similarly, six metric ton of solid waste was scooped up from between the Ratopul-Setopul area under the Rudramati clean-up and Bishumati clean-up campaigns.
Five metric ton of garbage was collected from the BP Eye Hospital area in Jadibuti as part of the Manohara River Clean-up Campaign, which entered its 10th week, while 10 metric ton was collected under the Kathmandu Ring Road clean-up campaign. Over 10 metric ton of waste was collected from other parts of the Valley on Saturday.
