A youth aspiring for Myadi police (temporary police for election security job) lost his life during physical fitness test in Hetauda Sub-metropolis-4 on Monday.
Prem Prasad Ghimire, 24, of Bakaiya Rural Municipality-4 in eastern part of Makwanpur district, collapsed while participating in one-km race at Loktantrik Ground. But he collapsed just before reaching the finish line.
Ghimire breathed his last on his way to hospital, it is learnt. Physicians hinted possible heart-related problems behind the death.
Makwanpur police on Monday conducted the physical fitness assessment of the youths aspiring to become Myadi police. The aspirants had to finish one-km race in five minutes.
“Even some people aged 55 years crossed the finish line within the given timeframe. But unfortunately Ghimire collapsed on the ground close to finish line,” said DSP Dilip Raj Jha.
Makwanpur Election Commission has called for 1,328 vacancies of Myadi police including 324 women quota. A total of 3345 individuals have submitted applications for the job.
