Agnidahan drops its teaser, first look

The producers of the upcoming film Agnidahan unveiled the first look and a teaser amid a function held at Q’s Cinema in the Capital on Wednesday.
According to the producers, the film is based on the practice of ostracising women on the accusation of practicing witchcraft which is yet to be completely rooted out from many rural districts in Nepal.
“Agnidahan is a social drama, and our attempt at art activism. The film was produced to eradicate all forms of social ostracising based on witchcraft accusations,” said the film’s producer, Kobit Saran Upadhyay, “We aim to take the film to districts where such practices are still prevalent.”
Agnidahan is directed by Ghanashyam Lamichhane, who previously directed 2015’s Dhauli.
The film features actors Anupama Bhandari, Pramila Tulachan, Maotse Gurung, Tulasa Kshetri, and Prakash Ghimire, in the lead roles.
The film is produced in collaboration with A Human Being Can Never Be a Witch National Awakening Academy Nepal—an advocacy group.
